Duduwa rural municipality to follow austerity measures

NEPALGUNJ: With the election of new representatives, Duduwa Rural Municipality in the district of Banke has worked to reduce its expenses citing poor internal resources.

Chief Administrative Officer of Duduwa Rural Municipality Parshuram Upadhyay said the rural municipality is also planning to downsize the human resources. He said the officials working on a contract basis would be downsized based on their performance as the internal resource of the rural municipality was not so strong.

“Policy-level decision has been made to terminate the contract of some officials having poor work performance,” he said.

Likewise, the Chairman of the rural municipality, Narendra Kumar Chaudhary, said efforts would be made to increase the internal resource along with the austerity measures adding that uplifting people’s livelihood was his priority.

Chaudhary, who was elected for the second time as the chairman, also promised to ensure effective public service delivery in the rural municipality.
