KATHMANDU: The industrial sector has not been able to get electricity as the power imported from India has shrunk due to the power crisis in India.

According to Nepal Electricity Authority spokesperson Suresh Bhattarai, electricity could not be imported into the Bihar region of India due to transmission line maintenance. That is why industries are not getting electricity.

He said that this problem will continue for a few more days.

“They said the repairs would be completed by Friday. This means the supply will be regular immediately after the maintenance is over,” Bhattarai said.

He added that it might take 5-6 days maximum for the power supply to be normal.
