NC leader Dr Koirala urges party cadres to actively participate in elections

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Dr Shekhar Korala has appealed to his party leaders, cadres and those associated with NC’s sister wings and benevolent organizations to actively participate in the election process in unison keeping the mutual differences at bay.

Issuing a press statement today, Dr Koirala called on one and all to join hands to make NC victorious in the local election taking place on coming May 13.

He also mentioned the positive results of local level election would create a foundation for victory in the province and federal election.

Admitting that the task of ticket distribution was not easy in NC as there are huge numbers of eligible and competent leaders and cadres interested to field heir candidacy in local election, Dr Koirala said he has been raising the issue of setting a certain criteria to take decision on the candidates.

The senior leader also made it clear that they have been collectively pushing the central committee and performance committee for developing standard on ticket distribution to ensure justice in the party.

“I assure my colleagues and fellow party workers to study and review the measures and standards taken to distribute the tickets in the central committee”, reads the statement.

He further noted, “Election is on our threshold now and we would very indeed engage our whole efforts to make NC victorious by keeping the differences away. I do expect same from the colleagues”.

Leader Dr Koirala also urged the NC cadres who are relinquishing other parties due to dissatisfaction in regard to unfair election ticket distribution to return to the party mainstream.
