Rajasthan beats Bangalore to climb atop IPL points table



PUNE:  Rajasthan Royals has defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 29 runs in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL).

With this win, Rajasthan has climbed atop the points table of the IPL.

Bangalore was bowled out for 115 runs in 19.3 overs while it was chasing the 145-run target set by Rajasthan in an IPL match held at the MCA in Pune on Tuesday.

Bangalore’s captain Faf du Plessis topped the score with 23 runs while Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva and Shahbaz Ahmed made 18 and 17 runs, respectively. The other batsmen could not shine as expected.

In reply, Rajasthan’s Kuldeep Sen grabbed four wickets, Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets while Prasidh Krishna bagged two wickets of Bangalore.

Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, Rajasthan had notched up 144 runs losing eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Rajasthan’s Riyal Parag topped the score with 56 runs and remained unbeaten. Sanju Samson made 27 runs while Ravichandran Ashwin contributed 17 runs.

Bangalore’s Mohammed Siraj, Josh Hazlewood and Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva took two wickets each of Rajasthan.
