EC to look into nomination papers and complaints today and tomorrow



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) is examining nomination papers and looking into the complaints lodged against the candidates for the local level elections today and tomorrow.

According to the election calendar, complaints could be lodged, if any, against the candidacies until 5 pm on Tuesday.

The Commission has said that it will publish the name list of the candidates at 6 pm Thursday after examining the nomination papers and complaints thoroughly.

Similarly, the candidates willing to withdraw their candidacies can do so until 5 pm Friday, according to the schedule. The Commission will publish the final name list of candidates after 5 pm on the same day.

The Commission, then, will provide election symbols to the candidates on Saturday.
