Maoist Center Chair Prachanda and Chinese Foreign Affairs Minister Wang hold meeting



KATHMANDU:  CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and visiting Chinese Foreign Affairs Minister Wang Yi have held talks at Hotel Marriott in Naxal this morning.

Maoist Center Chair Prachanda and leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha reached at hotel Marriott to meet the Chinese Foreign Minister.

The two leaders will dwell on issues related to bilateral interest and Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), it is learnt. Wang who came on Friday on a three-day Nepal visit is returning to China today itself.

Earlier this morning, visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang paid a courtesy call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

After President Bhandari, the Chinese Foreign Minister met CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli.

On Saturday, officials from both countries signed nine sets of agreements on enhancing mutual cooperation following bilateral talks between Foreign Minister Dr. Narayan Khadka and his Chinese counterpart Wang.

Welcoming his Chinese counterpart to the bilateral talks, Minister Khadka expressed his desire to take the centuries-old Nepal-China relations to a new height.

Minister Khadka also stressed the need for the timely completion of Chinese-assisted development projects during the meeting.
