Actor Paul Shah in police custody



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested actor Paul Shah.

Shah has been accused of raping a 17-year-old singer. Shah has been held after he presented himself, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Yubaraj Khadka.

On February 23, the family of alleged rape survivor has lodged a first information report (FIR) with the district police office.

Actor Shah lured and repeatedly raped the girl on different dates (on 27 April, 2021 and 25 December, 2020 in Pokhara and on 20 March, 2021 in Chitwan), according to the FIR.

The FIR has demanded action against Shah in line with Clause 219 (1) of the Penal Code 2074 and compensation to the reported victim as per Clause 228 of the Code.
