NEPSE closes for week with 3.33 points gain



KATHMANDU: The stock market has closed for the week with the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index gaining 3.33 points to close at 2,779.98 points on Thursday, the last trading day of the week.

NEPSE index closed green today with a gain of 0.12% after the market pursued a downward trend throughout the week.

However, the total turnover for Thursday stood at just Rs. 3.3 billion against higher daily transaction amounts earlier. Last week, the average daily turnover was over Rs. 7 billion.

As many as 6,675,231 shares of 224 listed companies changed hands via 50.965 transactions today.

NEPSE sub-indices Banking, Trading, Hotels and Tourism, Development Bank, Life Insurance and Mutual Fund, nevertheless have closed red while others are green.

Share prices of WEAN Nepal Microfinance and Buddhabhumi Nepal Hydropower rose the most by 10 percent. These two companies traded at circuit level throughout the week.
