 Ministers tender resignation

Ministers representing the CPN-Unified Socialist Prem Ale and Ram Kumari Jhakri have announced their resignation from the posts.

They made the announcements by holding separate press meet at their respective ministry on Sunday.

CAN announces Nepali team for Scotland series

Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced the team for the ICC World Cup League-2 series in Scotland, and two one-day practice series in Canada.

CAN announced a 14-member squad under the captaincy of Sandeep Lamichhane.

The announced team includes Sandeep Lamichhane, Rohit Poudel, Kushal Bhurtel, Asif Sheikh, Dev Khanal, Dipendra Singh Airy, Arif Sheikh, Karan KC, Sompal Kami, Adil Ansari, Basir Ahmed, Kishore Mahato, Pawan Sharaf and Binod Bhandari.

Lalitpur metropolis bans sale of panipuri in view of emerging cholera cases

 Lalitpur Metropolitan City (LMC) has banned the sale of panipuri on the streets of the metropolis in view of emerging cholera cases in Kathmandu Valley.

LMC Mayor Chiri Babu Maharajan took a decision to this effect as a preventive measure after Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD) found cholera-causing bacteria in the water of a panipuri stall in Kathmandu.

HoR meeting adjourned owing to insufficient quorum

The House of Representatives meeting has been postponed due to lack of quorum on Sunday.

In the meeting held on Sunday, lawmaker Jhapat Bahadur Rawal demanded to determine the quorum while presenting the Policy Research Foundation Bill 2076.

Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota adjourned the meeting for half an hour after it was confirmed that the number present in the parliament meeting did not meet the mandatory number.

Stock market goes green Sunday, rises by 95 points

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has risen by about 95 points on the first day of the week. The stock market index NEPSE has risen by 94.92 points on Sunday and reached 1,056.98 points.

Today, the shares of hydropower, development banks, insurance, microfinance and manufacturing groups have risen by higher numbers.

After a long time, the transaction amount has reached over two billion rupees on Sunday.

Cholera spotted in nine places in Kathmandu Valley

The number of cholera patients in Kathmandu valley has reached 10.

According to the District Public Health Office, Kathmandu, one more cholera patient has been found in Naikap and Patan.

According to office sources, the report of RDT test on the patients found in Patan is positive.

However, the culture report is yet to come. As for the patients of Naikap, the culture report is also positive.

Police rescue three foreigners stranded in Chandragiri forest

Police have rescued three foreign nationals who had been missing in the Chandragiri forest of Kathmandu since Saturday.

According to Kathmandu Metropolitan Police, a 10-member police team from Thankot rescued them using with torches, ropes and stretchers.

The rescued foreigners include Douglas Rowe, 34, of Pottery, USA, Navpreet Dillon, 30, of Chandigarh, India, and Madhav Gupta, 29, of Mumbai, India.

Prachanda takes stock of record-holder Tamang

Chairman of Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” reached Nepal Cancer Hospital at Harisiddhi in Lalitpur to take stock of the health condition of Shambhu Tamang, the youngest climber of Mt Everest.

Tamang, a resident of Lisankhupakhar Rural Municipality-2, Sindhupalchowk, who set a record in the Guinness Book of World Records by climbing Mt. Everest at the youngest age in 1973, has been in hospital for a long time.

Tamang, who is suffering from cancer, is undergoing treatment at the Nepal Cancer Hospital.

Chairman Prachanda inquired about Tamang’s health condition from the doctors.
