UML Chair Oli compares Prachanda, Madhav with ‘royalist communist’ Rayamajhi

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has labeled two former comrades-in-arms Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Madhav Kumar Nepal as new Keshar Jung Rayamajhi of the communist movement trying to capture the party treacherously.

Speaking at a program organized to mark the Man Mohan Memorial Day in Kathmandu on Tuesday, the UML chair accused the CPN-Maoist Center Chair and CPN-Unified Socialist Chair tried to capture the party organization just like Rayamajhi during King Mahendra’s rule.

Leader Rayamajhi had lobbied the communist leaders to join the Panchayat system which had been advocating for the active role of the monarchy.

“Prachanda and Nepal tried to capture the party by abusing the organization they had formed in the name of unification. Similarly, Dr. Rayamajhi had captured the party while Man Mohan Adhikari had been away on a China visit”, UML chairman Oli recalled.

Linking the same issue, Oli accused Prachanda and Madhav of trying to do the same when they were in the erstwhile Nepal Communist Party.

Complaining he was misunderstood, the UML Chair asked the leaders and activists to stand up for justice and defend the good leaders.
