30 file candidacy for Mayor in Bharatpur Metropolis



CHITWAN: For the May 13 local level election, a total of 30 candidacies have been filed for the post of mayor in Bharatpur Metropolis.

The office of Chief Election Officer shared the information that 16 are from political parties and 14 independent candidates.

Similarly, 13 candidacies were filed for the post of deputy mayor in the metropolis.

Information officer at election office, Purushottam Poudel, informed that the candidates filing mayoral nomination are- Renu Dahal of CPN (Maoist Centre), Bijay Subedi of CPN UML, Ganesh Giri of Loktantrik Samajbadi, Prabin Kafle of Bibeksheel Sajha Party, Bhaktiram Gautam Sharma of Rastriya Janamorcha, Hari Prasad Dulal of Nepal Workers and Peasants Party, Surya Prasad Regmi of Nepal Communist Party (Marxist Leninist), Tek Bahadur Punmagar of Mangol National Organization, Purna Bahadur Gurung of Rastriya Nagarik Party, Sanjay Kumar Thakur of Janamat Party, Binod Kumar Giri of Maulik Jarokilo Party, Laxman Adhikari of RPP-Nepal, Dipendra Banstola of Unnat Lektantra Party, and Khem Prasai of Samajik Ekta Party.

Similarly, the independent candidates for the mayor post are Jagannath Poudel, Ramkrishna Ojha, Harish Chandra Ghimire, Mohit Pande, Yamkant Sharma Kandel, Rudra Prasad Sapkota, Suman Adhikari, Yog Lal Shrestha, Uddhav Aryal, Kulraj Kandel, Hari Sharan Shrestha, Ramesh Bhandari, Milan Adhikari and Durga Prasad Sharma.

Those filing candidacy for the post of deputy mayor are- Chitrasen Adhikari of Nepali Congress, Himal Gurung of RPP, Pushpa Sapkota of Bibeksheel Sajha Party, Devi Sharma of Rastriya Janamorcha, Indira Sharma Gauli of Nepal Communist Party (Marxist Leninist), Mina Magar of Rastriya Janamukti Party, Sushma Tamang of Mangol National Organization, Kalpana Thapa of RPP-Nepal and Kaushila Khatri of CPN (Maoist Socialist). Similarly, independent candidates for the post of deputy mayor are Rabi Chandra Adhikari, Pabitra Joshi, Chandra Bahadur Tamang and Bhojraj Kaudal.
