20,000 observers from 68 organizations to be deployed for local polls



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has said that 20,000 observers will observe the local level elections to be held on May 13.

A total of 68 various organizations have taken permission to observe the local level elections, according to Shaligram Sharma Paudel, the spokesperson of the Commission.

Spokesperson Paudel has said preparations are underway to deploy 20,000 observers with ID cards during the elections.

Meanwhile, 168,000 security personnel will be deployed for the security of the elections.

Of them,  65,000 security personnel will be deployed from Nepal Police, 71,000 from Nepal Army and the remaining 32,000 will be deployed from Armed Police Force.
