KATHMANDU: Bimala Tumkhewa has been elected as the chairperson of Sancharika Samuha through the eight general convention of the organization.
Tumkhewa got 85 votes to become the chairperson of the Samuha in the election results declared on Friday late night.
Her closet rival Kamala Panthi got 83 votes. Similarly, Pabitra Sunar (vice chairperson), Basanti Bastola (general secretary), Durga Karki (secretary) and Urbasi Basnyat (treasurer) have been elected.
Similarly, eight members –Saloja Dahal, Parbata Chaudhari, Sajana Tamang, Bununa Rai, Manjila Dhakal, Logshari Kunwar Pabitra Mudbhari and Radha Khanal — have been elected through the general convention.
