KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Thapa has dubbed the outcome of the local level election “good” and urged all to prepare for the upcoming general election.
Speaking at a program organized by the Nepali Congress Bhaktapur on Wednesday to honor the elected representatives at the local level, Thapa said that the party had achieved great success in the local elections and now it was time to start preparations for the general elections.
He accounted CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli’s unsuccessful tenure as Prime Minister, NC cadres, and well-wishers’ efforts for the remarkable success in the local level election.
“UML had not been able to govern well, the people got disillusion and voted for NC, we have to retain their (the public’s) hope and trust on our party and work accordingly,” the NC General Secretary said, adding, “We have to start preparing for general election now onwards.”
Thapa said that the party would pay special attention to the selection of candidates in the upcoming election.
