UML and Maoist leaders run into ex-King Gyanendra Shah at TIA

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist Center leaders and former King Gyanendra Shah have run into each other at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Friday.

The three chanced upon each other at TIA VIP lounge as they were on their way to separate destinations from the airport.

Former King Shah was on his way to Bhadrapur, UML Secretary Chhabilal Bishwakarma on way to Bhairahawa and Maoist leader Ganesh Sah to Bharatpur, Chitwan.

Maoist leader Sah said the two political leaders held talks about contemporary politics and the development of the country with the ex-royal.

“After greeting each other, we talked about the development of Nepal and current issues with ex-King Shah,” Maoist leader Sah said, adding, “I discussed water technology, water sanitation, increasing environmental pollution with the former royal.”

Following general conversation, UML Secretary Biswakarma requested the former king for a group photo. Ex-king Gyanendra had readily accepted the photo request.

Sharing the same photo on his Facebook, leader Bishwakarma wrote about the accidental meeting.

After that, the three headed towards their respective destinations, said Maoist leader Sah.
