 Poudel group stresses need to form alliance in local polls



KATHMANDU: A meeting called by senior leader of Nepali Congress (NC) Ram Chandra Poudel has underlined the need to form an alliance in the upcoming local level elections.

Leader Poudel had called the leaders of district presidents loyal to him to his residence in Boharatar for discussions  prior to the central working committee meeting (CWC), said NC Bajura District President Ram Singh Rawal.

“The meeting has conclude that the party has will contest the local level elections by forming an alliance,” said Rawal, adding, “The leaders in the meeting suggested that lower level working committees should be allowed to take a decision regarding it depending upon the necessity.”

Law Minister Dilendra Prasad Badu, CWC member Dr Shashanka Koirala and leader Deepak Giri took part in the meeting.

Among those district presidents attending the meeting were Jit Prakash Ale of Tanahun, Himal Datta Shrestha of Palpa apart from Rawal.
