Prachanda conveying his final say to PM Deuba today: Source

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” is meeting Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to discuss the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and retaining the ruling coalition, today.

A Maoist leader said that it is likely that Prachanda would give two options to PM Deuba: First, either he would tell PM Deuba that he would call back his ministers from the cabinet, or convince PM Deuba to retain the ruling coalition by forging consensus on MCC.

Likewise, Prachanda will also ask PM Deuba to convene a meeting of the ruling coalition and make a final decision on the fate of the coalition.

The source added that since Prachanda has failed to convince PM Deuba to not ratify MCC without amendments, he has made final preparations to recall its ministers from the government.

Prachanda is worried about the possible alliance between Nepali Congress and CPN-UML to ratify the MCC from the Parliament.

Meanwhile, CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli wants the Maoist party and the Unified Socialist out of the government.
