Local level elections will be held by mid-April 2023: Madhav Nepal

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialist) Party Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that the elections of all the three levels will be held within Chaitra 2079 i.e. mid-April 2023.

Speaking at a program organized to welcome the youths who left various parties in Ramechhap and joined the Unified Socialists on Tuesday, Chairman Nepal said that elections for all the three levels would be held in October, November or December.

He said that there is no possibility of holding elections in April.

“The election will not be held in this April as the elected representatives should be allowed to complete their five-year term,” the Unified Socialists Chairman said.

He recalled that the last election had been held in May, June and September and added that new election date has to be fixed in consideration of the fact that all levels should get chance to work for five years and holding election by December would meet the requirement.

Chairman Nepal said that the five parties of the ruling coalition will go to the polls together.
