RPP to boycott National Assembly elections in six provinces

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has decided to boycott voting in six of the seven provinces in the upcoming National Assembly (NA) elections on January 26.

A meeting of RPP central office bearers held on Tuesday in Kathmandu decided to refrain in voting during the NA election except in Province 1.

Issuing a press statement on Tuesday, RPP General Secretary Bhuwan Pathak informed that the party would not take part in voting for the NA election in six provinces as it has filed candidacy only in Province 1.

“As there are no party candidates in other provinces, it was decided to instruct the voters representing the party not to participate in the voting process in the provinces sans RPP candidacy,” the statement said.

RPP has two candidates Ranju Pyakurel and Ambar Bahadur Bisht in Province 1.
