PM Deuba and Prachanda discussing govt formation today as well



KATHMANDU: In a bid to meet the deadline given by the President to name a Prime Minister by Sunday, Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda are holding what has been said as “decisive” talks today.

The two leaders, accompanied by others, will discuss government formation, a Bluwatar source said.

A meeting held between Prime Minister Deuba and Prachanda on Friday evening ended inconclusively.

Sources claimed that NC President Deuba is not yet ready to leave the post of Prime Minister to Prachanda.

“There was a clear indication that Deuba was not ready to support Prachanda to become the Prime Minister for the first two years,” a party leader, who was present in the meeting, said.

However, Maoist Chairman Prachanda reiterated his stance that he should lead the government at any cost.
