Maoist Chairman Prachanda elected to HoR from Gorkha-2



KATHMANDU: Chairman of CPN Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has been elected from Gorkha Constituency-2 as a member of the House of Representatives.

Prachanda garnered 26,103 votes while his closest competitor, Kabindra Burlakoti of the Rastriya Swatantra Party got 12,637 votes.

UML’s Abdus Miya got 7,393 votes.

With this win, Prachanda has become a lawmaker for the fourth time.

He won from Rolpa and Kathmandu in 2064 BS and won from Siraha-5 in 2070. He was elected from Chitwan in 2074 BS.
