Two motorcyclists die in accident in Jhapa



JHAPA: Two people died in a head-on collision between two speeding motorcycles in Jhapa on Friday.

One person was injured in the accident that took place late night on Friday in Mechinagar municipality.

The accident took place at 11:25 p.m. at Pipaldangi located in ward no. 12 of Mechinagar municipality in the Mechi highway.

A motorcycle (Pra. 1-01-014 Pa 3350) coming from north towards the south collided with another motorcycle (Pra. 1-01-014 Pa 2678) coming from the opposite direction, the District Police Office said. Krishna Prasad Sigdel, 38, of Kankai municipality-4 and Bishnu Thapa, 45, of Arjundhara municipality-4, succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at the B&C Hospital in Birtamod.

Likewise, 53-year-old Ram Bahadur Adhikari of Kankai-4, who was pillion riding was injured. He is undergoing treatment for injuries to various parts of his body. Further investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
