Dhangadhi brings new budget with top priority on social development, infrastructure



DHANGADHI: The Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City has unveiled its new budget of Rs 1.83 billion for the fiscal year 2022/023.

Tabling the new budget, Deputy Mayor of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City Kanda Kala Kumari Rana announced Rs 1.03 billion for current expenditure while Rs 807 million is allocated for capital expenditure.

The only sub-metropolitan city of the Sudurpaschim Province has planned to manage Rs 268 million from its internal income, Rs 473 million for revenue sharing, Rs 964.8 million from the federal government’s inter-governmental fiscal handover and Rs 353.4 million from the province government.

Of the total budget, highest amount has been allocated to social development and infrastructure development.

The other programs focused by the local government in Dhangadhi including systematic settlement development, development and promotion of industry and tourism, development of agriculture and livestock, productivity growth, quality education, employment generation and health care.
