Prachanda expresses desire to be executive head of country again

KATHMANDU: CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has expressed his desire to be the Prime Minister once again.

Addressing a swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected members of the Nepal Mountaineers Association (NMA) in Kathmandu on Friday, the former Prime Minister said he would perform better if he were to be the executive head of the country again.

Assessing his tenures as PM in the past and terming his second tenure as more successful compared to the first one, he said if a third chance were to arise, he would do even better.

Referring to the political changes made in the recent past, he said he played a leading role in bringing about the current change in the country.

Wary about the recent changes being hijacked by the anti-change political elements, Prachanda stressed the need for solidifying democratic process by maintaining people’s unity and addressing their aspirations.

He also said he would devote his remaining life to the economic development and prosperity of the country.
