NC forms central parliamentary committee that picks candidates of metros, sub-metros for local election

Party President Deuba authorized to select candidates of metropolises and sub-metropolises



KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has formed a central parliamentary committee that picks candidates for local-level elections.

A meeting of the Central Working Committee (CWC) formed the central parliamentary committee on Sunday.

The NC parliamentary committee is comprised of 13 party office bearers and also includes senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel.

The first meeting of the central parliamentary committee was held Sunday itself and it has also delegated the authority to select mayoral and deputy mayoral candidates of metropolises and sub-metropolises to party President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

NC Joint General Secretary Jiwan Pariyar said that the parliamentary committee’s deicsion was approved by the second sitting of the CWC today itself.
