NC vows not to spend on unproductive areas like View towers and Welcome Gates

KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has said that it will not invest the revenue raised from the people’s taxes in unproductive areas such as the construction of the view-towers and welcome gates.

The Election manifesto published on Sunday has made the promise that no local bodies headed by NC representatives will waste the money on unproductive sectors like the construction of view towers and welcome gates.

Interestingly, the KP Oli-led UML government regarded the construction of view-towers and welcome gates in different areas as its major achievement.

“We will not allow the misuse of government property and exploitation of natural resources, we will not allow it to happen,” NC said in the party’s resolution released on Sunday.

NC has also promised not to recruit family members or relatives as the advisor of the elected representatives.

The ruling party has stated that any activity promoting or relating to violence against women, caste discrimination, gender discrimination, social perversion, and anomalies will be strictly discouraged.
