Octogenarian files candidacy to claim Ward leadership for 11th time



KATHMANDU: While political parties have been striving their best to get the candidate to ensure victory for their party in the forthcoming local election, an octogenarian of Lalitpur-10, has filed candidacy for the post of Ward Chairman to claim the post for the 11th time.

According to Election Commission (EC) sources, Nar Singh Byanjankar, an existing Ward chairman of Lalitpur -10, has filed his candidacy to contest for the same post in the forthcoming election.

Bynajankar has won the post 10 times since 2079 BS (1972 AD).

The 81-year-old Byanjankar, who has been contesting as an independent, filed his candidacy on Sunday.

He said that the people have been making him a winner consistently as they are impressed by his good deed.
