NEPSE registers double digit slump on Thursday



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has declined by double digits today (Thursday), the last trading day of this week.

NEPSE recorded 16.69 points loss, pulling the index down to 2,613.67 points. The Sensitive index, which measures trading activity of Class A companies, also shed 6.17 points and stands at 488.94 points.

Though the downward trend in NEPSE index continued, the total turnover, nevertheless, increased compared to yesterday.

As many as 5,298,543 shares of 224 companies changed hands via 45,076 transactions, resulting in a turnover of Rs 3.24 billion.

Despite the NEPSE index closing red, life and non-insurance sub-indices registered gains. The non-life insurance sub-index gained 127.95 points and life insurance sub-index registered 370.04 points gain.
