UML forms task force to draft local election manifesto



KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has formed a task force to prepare a manifesto for the local level elections.

The party’s Central Committee (CC) meeting that concluded on Thursday formed a task force under the leadership of Senior Vice-chairman Ishwor Pokharel.

The task force includes Vice-Chairman Yubaraj Gyawali, deputy general secretaries Pradip Gyawali and Bishnu Rimal, Politburo member Devendra Dahal, leaders Prabhu Sah, Manoj Jung Thapa, ex-Finance Minister Yuvaraj Khatiwada, Prabha Baral, Dinesh Chandra Devkota and Sushil Gyawali.

Meanwhile, the CC also delegated authority to select secretaries of the central departments of the party to the UML  Secretariat.

Earlier, the CC picked in-charge and deputy in-charges of 22 party departments. Though the CC is to appoint secretary in the departments, it has delegated the authority to the party Secretariat today.
