KATHMANDU: Light rain coupled with thundershower is predicted in some of hilly areas following a partly and general weather in high hilly and mountainous areas, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.
This is due to the impact of the westerly low pressure system. As a result, a few hilly areas of Province 1, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces are likely to witness light rain coupled with thundershower.
In view of this and increasing hot temperature with the unset of summer, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has urged people to be alert.
Pre-monsoon (March, April and May) is marked by continuous impact in the weather in the afternoon and evening in the hilly reasons.
Pre-monsoon is characterised by sunny days and brief thundershowers during afternoons and evenings, according to the Division.
The Kathmandu Valley (Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts) today recorded minimum 15.5 degree temperature and maximum 29.8 degree.
Similarly, Jumla recorded lowest minimum 4.5 degree and Janakpur highest maximum 35.4 degree.
