Writ against CJ Rana’s impeachment filed at Supreme Court



KATHMANDU: A writ has been registered in the Supreme Court against the impeachment motion filed against Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana.

According to the Supreme Court, advocates Deepak Bikram Mishra and Punya Prasad Khatiwada filed a writ petition against the impeachment motion against CJ Rana on Wednesday.

According to Supreme Court Spokesperson Bimal Poudel, the writ petition has been registered for hearing in the Constitutional Court. “The writ petition filed by advocates Deepak Mishra and Khatiwada against the impeachment has been registered,” he said.

The writ petition seeks an order to stay the impeachment motion and allow the Chief Justice to function.
