 PM Deuba and Prachanda holding talks prior to HoR meeting



KATHMANDU:  Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is holding a meeting with CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda on the US grant compact MCC prior to the House meeting today.

Maoist Center Chairman Prachand reached Balutar this morning and the talks between Prime Minister Deuba and Prachanda are underway, sources have said.

The Maoist Center has already decided to stand against the MCC.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Deuba is making preparations to endorse the MCC even with the support from the main opposition CPN-UML.

Deuba has intensified talks with the UML to this effect. A meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) has been scheduled for 1 pm to hold discussions on the MCC.
