PM Deuba, Maoist Chair Prachanda hold talks at Baluwatar

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ held talks at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar, Kathmandu.

According to Baluwatar sources, Prachanda reached Baluwatar to discuss various issues including the leadership for the next government.

The discussion between the two top leaders took place at a time when both NC and the Maoist Center are claiming the leadership of the new government.

Earlier on Thursday, PM Deuba, Maoist Center Chairman Prachanda and CPN-Unified Socialist party Chair Madhav Nepal discussed the government-formation, and power sharing, among other issues.

Prachanda had on Thursday set a deadline for Deuba to give a decision by Friday.

The deadline given to the parties to form the government is ending at five o’clock on Sunday. However, the ruling coalition, which has the highest probability of forming the government, has not been able to reach a consensus.
