KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index increased by 14.35 points to close at 1,858.49 points on Sunday.
The index, which has been bearish throughout the week, saw rise on the last trading day before Tihar holidays. The Sensitive Index increased by 2.88 points and stands at 365.9 points.
A total of 1,538,042 units of shares of 221 companies traded via 13,081 transactions, resulting in a turnover of Rs 516 million.
Ru Ru Jalbidhyut Pariyojana Limited and Sayapatri Hydropower Limited were the top gainer today with its stock price going up by 10 percent.
Citizens Mutual Fund-2 was the top loser with its stock price declining by 9.55 percent followed by Aviyan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited whose price fell by 7.60 percent.
Only two sector indices namely Hotel and Tourism and Mutual Funds closed red while the rest closed green.
