60 out of 77 districts receive ballot papers for election under PR system



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has transported ballot papers for the Proportional Representation (PR) electoral system under the upcoming parliamentary elections to 60 districts till Saturday.

The House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections are slated for November 20 this year.

The Commission said that ballot papers would be transported to additional six districts before Tihar festival holiday.
Ballot papers would be ferried in the remaining districts, including Manang, Mustang, Achham, Bajura, Kalikot, Mugu, Humla and Dolpa after Tihar only.

Meanwhile, Commission’s Spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel shared that a total of 15,124,000 ballot papers were printed so far for the First-Past-The-Post (FPTP) electoral system. Among them 7,525,000 were for Provincial Assembly election and 7,599,000 were for HoR election.
Ballot paper for PR system has white background and election symbol and other details are printed in black ink.
