KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has again defended the dissolution of the parliament by the government led by him.
Addressing the UML Central Committee meeting that started in Kathmandu on Wednesday, former Prime Minister Oli said the House of Representatives was dissolved to save the then ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP).
He said that the parliament was dissolved after noticing a conspiracy to capture the party. UML chair Oli further specified that the parliament was dissolved after Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Madhav Kumar Nepal tried to capture the then NCP.
He further added that there was no need for leftist unity.
“There is no need for unity with the parties led by Prachanda and Nepal,” Oli said, adding, “They (Prachanda and Nepal) should and will join once their arrogance is shattered.”
The UML Chairman accused CPN-Maoist Center Chair Prachanda of betraying the ‘people’s war.’
