NC General Secretary Thapa proposes to make Higher Education Act



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa has proposed to enact the Higher Education Act at the earliest as a means of regulating higher education sector in Nepal.

Speaking at an inauguration ceremony of the 12th National Conference of the Central Committee of the TU Employees Union in Kirtipur on Wednesday, NC General Secretary Thapa stressed on the need to break the confusion in education by enacting the Higher Education Act.

He pointed out that despite including right to education as fundamental rights in the Constitution, there is a need for reform in the university.

Lawmaker Thapa promised to support the campaign and speak to the Chancellor and the Prime Minister about the  poor condition of the university.
