Idol stolen from Balkumari Temple in Sunakothi



LALITPUR: An idol has been stolen from the Balkumari Temple at Sunakothi in the Lalitpur district.

The two-foot-tall bronze idol, which is said to be about 300 years old, was stolen last night, locals have said.

The incident of theft was reported after the priests of the temple did not see the idol Sunday morning.

Lalitpur Police Chief SSP Yagya Binod Pokharel said that the search was on as soon as information was received that the idol of Balkumari Temple had been stolen.

A two-foot-tall bronze statue has been reported stolen. We are conducting a search operation,” he said.
