KATHMANDU: The office bearers’ meeting of the CPN-Maoist Center has decided to elect party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ its parliamentary party (PP) leader unanimously.
According to Maoist Center leader Girirajmani Pokharel, the office bearer meeting held on Thursday unanimously decided to elect party Chairman Prachanda as PP leader.
“The office bearers’ meeting today decided unanimously to select Chairman Prachanda as the PP leader of the party. The parliamentary party meeting will validate the office bearers’ meeting,” he said.
The meeting also decided to make leader Hitraj Pandey the Chief Whip in the parliament. A meeting of the parliamentary party undergoing in Singha Durbar will approve the decisions made by the office bearers’ meeting.
Although Deputy General Secretary Barshaman Pun and Janardan Sharma claimed the position of deputy leaders of the party, the office bearers’ meeting made no decision on it.
