UML’s Prithvi Subba Gurung leading by 1820 votes in Lamjung



BESISAHAR: CPN-UML candidate Prithvi Subba Gurung is ahead in the number of votes secured in the election to the Member of House of Representatives in Lamjung district.

As per the latest vote-count, Gurung is leading the vote tally by 1,820 votes as against the votes secured by his closest competitor, Dev Prasad Gurung, the common candidate of the ruling five-party alliance.

Prithvi has secured 11,617 votes as against the votes bagged by his closest contender Dev Gurung’s 9,797 votes, out of the total 23,870 votes counted so far, Chief Election Officer Shiva Prasad Khanal said.

Six hundred and seventy-eight votes have been found invalid among the ballots counted so far. The voter turnout in Lamjung district was 80,917 in the Sunday’s House of Representatives (HoR) election.

The total number of registered voters in the district was 133 thousand 559. The district elects one member to the HoR.
