BENI: Vote counting has been suspended in Myagdi after ballot papers without the signature of the polling officer were found.

It is said 102 ballot papers towards the election to the House of Representatives were found without the polling officer’s signature while counting the ballot papers of Devisthan polling centre at Malika rural municipality-5 in the district.

The parties in the ruling alliance have demanded an investigation and action against the polling officer after this discovery. There is no signature of the polling officer on 24 ballot papers with stamp on the ‘Sun’ election symbol, 65 ballot papers with stamp on the ‘Tree’ election symbol and 13 ballot papers with stamp on other election symbols.

The Office of the Chief Election Officer has said the vote counting towards the House of Representatives election has been suspended after the parties in the ruling alliance demanded an investigation.
