UML Chairman Oli alleges ruling coalition for dragging President into controversy

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has come down heavily on the five-party ruling coalition for insulting and unnecessarily dragging the President into controversy.

Addressing a program at the party headquarters in Chyasal in Lalitpur Thursday, Oli accused the alliance of insulting the President.

“They (ruling coalition leaders) consider that insulting the President is their greatest achievement,” he said referring to the latest controversy on the Citizenship Bill.

Chairman Oli claimed that his party speaks the language of the country, the constitution and the law.

“UML speaks the language of the country and the people It speaks the language of the constitution and law,” he added.

UML Chairman Oli welcomed former Inspector General of Police, Sarbendra Khanal, and others to the party amid a program on Thursday.

Oli alleged the ruling parties for what he said “speaking the language of muscle” and “individual interest”.

“Since the alliance has been formed to fulfill their vested interests, it cannot do anything good for the country and the people,” Oli ridiculed the five-party ruling coalition.
