Former IGP Khanal joins CPN-UML



KATHMANDU: Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sarbendra Khanal has joined the CPN-UML party today.

UML Chairman KP Oli welcomed Khanal to the party at a program at party office Chyasal on Thursday.

Khanal had earlier on Wednesday discussed with UML Chairman Oli at his residence in Balkot.

According to the source, Chairman Oli has assured Khanal of some major responsibilities in the party.

Khanal is expected to get a ticket from Bara, Parsa, or Kathmandu in the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives.
