Pathivara tourism festival to be held on September 27



TAPLEJUNG: Pathivara tourism festival will take place in Taplejung on September 27-29 with the aim to expose religious and tourist destinations in the district, said the festival operation committee.

As part of the fiesta, a marathon will also be organized.

The race that begins from Tokmedanda of the district headquarters, Phungling goes through the top of Pathivara Temple situated 3,794 meters above sea level before concluding at Tokme, said Taranath Ghimire, chairperson of the organizing Pathivara Devi Temple Area Protection and Conservation Committee.

An agriculture fair will also be organized wherein agricultural, industrial handicrafts, local food items will be put on display.

Similarly, a mayor cup volleyball tournament has begun and a folk cultural program will be organized.

Visitors can take part in interactions related to tourism promotion, and enjoy paragliding, rock climbing and cycling.

They can view the Phungphunge waterfall. The cost for the festival is estimated to be approximately Rs 6.5 million.
