Panauti Municipality agrees to give 2,500 ropani land to Nepal Army



KAVRE: The Panauti Municipality in Kavre district has agreed to 2,500 ropani land to the Nepal Army for the purpose to run Military Academy.

The Municipality made the decision to give the land of Indreshwor Thalpu Community Forest Area in ward no. 8 and 9, Senior Administrative Officer and Information Officer at the Municipality Indra Prasad Adhikari said.

He said a meeting of the municipal executive held on July 14 took the decision based on the request received from the Kalijung Battalion of Nepal Army.

Likewise, further processes have been initiated from the municipality to implement the decision.

For this, documents along with the municipality’s decisions have been sent to the District Administration Office for further decision to give the land to the NA.

The municipality has also written to the Kalijung Battalion about its decision to provide the land.

Based on the processes, the DAO should consult the Division Forest Office and local community forest users’ committee and should go to the Ministry of Forest along with a detail project report (DPR).

“Decision of the municipality has been received. We will make further coordination with the Forest Ministry by holding consultations with the stakeholders,” Chief District Officer Humkala Pandey said.
