Ruling coalition decides to move the Citizenship Bill forward

KATHMANDU: The ruling coalition has decided to move the Citizenship Bill in the parliament.

According to Minister for Communication and Information and government spokesperson Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, a coalition meeting held at Prime Minister’s residence Baluwatar on Wednesday decided to take the citizenship ahead.

“Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba proposed to move the pending Citizenship Bill in the parliament and it was decided to move it,” Minister Karki said.

He said that the bill would be tabled in the House soon after completing some procedures.

Minister Karki informed that the meeting decided to complete the remaining work of the peace process.

In addition to political issues, the meeting also discussed the issue of inflation and the measures to be taken to curb it.

Minister Karki added that there was no discussion on cabinet reshuffle in the meeting.
