Bar Council calls emergency meeting to discuss audio leakage related to former Bar Treasurer Pokhrel

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Bar Council (NBC) has called an emergency meeting after the audio related to the former treasurer of Nepal Bar Association advocate Rudra Pokhrel became public.

The Bar Council, the body that regulates legal practitioners, has convened a meeting to make the necessary decisions on Pokhrel.

A member of the council informed that “there is a possibility that a committee will be set up to investigate.”

NBC which is formed under the leadership of the Attorney General has the ex-officio President of the Nepal Bar Association as its vice-president.

The Council consists of the Registrar of the Supreme Court, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Tribhuvan University, among others.

Provided the accused advocate is found guilty, the Council can revoke his license.
