KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court is hearing on the writ petition filed against the local election related code of conduct issued by the Election Commission.

Earlier, Nima Galgen Sherpa, chairperson of Helambu Rural Municipality in Sindhupalchowk, had filed a writ petition on Monday at the apex court  challenging the EC condition that the incumbent local representatives should resign from their post to offer their candidacy in the upcoming local election.

Justice Bam Kumar Shreshtha’s bench is hearing on the writ today.
