Vote counting kicks off in Lamjung



BESISAHAR: Counting of votes under the election to the Member of House of Representatives (HoR) and Province Assembly has started since today afternoon in Lamjung district.

The election was held on Sunday.

Chief of the District Election Office, Narayan Prasad Sapkota said that the vote counting is taking place at eight separate spots on the premises of the Chief Election Officer’s office. Election was held in Lamjung for one seat in the HoR and two seats in the Province Assembly.

Out of 133 thousand 559 voters, including 42 thousand 825 female and 37 thousand 985 male, in the district, the total 80 thousand 917 votes were cast. One hundred and twenty-eight polling stations and 186 polling centers were managed throughout the district for the voting.

The voter turnout in the district was 60.59 percent, according to preliminary estimates.
