NC CWC holding an emergency meeting



KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepali Congress has called an emergency meeting of the party’s Central Working Committee today.

The meeting is said to pass a condolence resolution over the demise of Pradeep Giri, a party central member and member of the House of Representatives.

The meeting is scheduled to be held at 10:30 am at the party central office, Sanepa.

Socialist thinker Giri passed away on Saturday at 9.30 pm while undergoing treatment at Mediciti Hospital in Bhainsepati, Lalitpur.

Giri’s mortal body will be kept at the Medicity Hospital premises from 9 am to 11 am today, and from 11.30 am to 2.00 pm at the Central Office of the Congress Party, said Krishna Prasad Paudel the chief secretary of the party office.

Giri is slated to be cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat later today.
